Mission: The Search
Location: Various

Previously on Star Trek Ermiana:

"Command and Control functions locked." The computers voice replied. Mikoto made her way over to the phaser lockers and pulled out a hand phaser, she tossed them out to the bridge crew.

"Incoming transporter signals! All decks!" The officer at tactical announced.

"Stand ready!" Mikoto ordered.

And now the continuation...

"Bridge to all personnel, repel boarders," Misaka ordered. She turned to face the officer at Security. "Where are they?"

"They've beamed small groups onto all decks, bit larger groups around our cargo bays, engineering, sickbay, armouries and..." he paused for a brief moment "guest quarters too Captain."

"They must be after supplies and weapons..." Misaka said. It was at that moment that the doors that led to the observation lounge swished open and several Maquis armed with phaser rifle burst out.

They wasted no time in starting to unleash their phaser fire upon the bridge crew, orange beams darting across the room striking consoles and crew.

Misaka crouched down near her command chair for cover, she gripped her hand phaser as orange phaser beams shot over her head.

Sonak ducked down behind the recess in the wall. It had been some time since he'd held a Phaser in his hands. It wasn't often that Starfleet Academy lecturers had reason to shoot anything.

Lt. JG Kromal Ezazzan had been previously at his Ops station on the bridge, minding his own business. Acquainting the new environment on the Ermiana had proven somewhat difficult despite his previous aspirations, yet it wasn't as bad as related to his prior experiences. All of it stemmed simply from adjusting. Now, however, the Galaxy-class Starship was practically disabled and at the whims of fate. The Maquos, of all the most extremists freedom-fighters, had decided the Ermiana was a target.

Kromal didn't have time to react properly when the doors to the Observation Lounge swished open and some very violent-minded Maquos entered. The moment the Gorn rose he was struck with phaser fire. This, however, only served to anger him - extremely. While his shoulder sizzled and part of his uniform burnt away, his reptilian - almost crocodilian - hide provided some natural protection. The second of gawking from the Maquos who had shot him was all the natural predator needed to bolt forward with jaws wide open.

It was an extremely violent display of Gorn predatory instincts. Kromal, despite his timid and professional nature, was still a product of millions of years of natural predatory evolution. His reptilian eyes were slits as his jaws clamped down on the shoulder of the human Maquos who had shot him almost effortlessly lobbed him into his vulcan comrade to his side. The human and vulcan cried out in pain as the extreme strength of the Gorn was display, pushing both backwards and turning to kick the vulcan straight down beneath him. Kromal then punched the human in the chest, hard, and forced him into the walls near the observation lounge doors. However behind the Gorn, a Klingon Maquos was more than ready for the challenge.

As the remainder of the small group of invaders dispersed more into the bridge - probably as a natural survival instinct to get away from the big scary lizard - the Klingon and Gorn faced off. One, panting and hissing with uniform stained with its own blood. The other seeking an honorable battle. Kromal stepped on the incapacitated body of the vulcan he had beaten, ignoring their cry of pain as and he locked claws with the Klingon as the two tested their strength.

Eila had been distracted by watching the Gorn Junior Lieutenant going to town on the Maquis boarders.

"Yeesh, remind me never to get on his bad side..." The first officer muttered.

"Yeah, no duh..." Misaka replied. A few more orange phaser beams shot over their heads. "Ok, that's it!" She said. She sprang up from the command chairs, aimed her phaser at the nearest Maquis and hot him directly in the chest knocking him down to the floor.

Three more then came rushing out of the forward turbolift. She spun on the spot and with a slight crouch delivered two shots striking two of them down. Her third shot missed, but it did blast the man's phaser out of his hand.

He stumbled back slightly, his gaze watching his weapon as it fell to the deck. "I don't think so!" Misaka said. Her fourth shot struck the weapon reducing it to a smouldering mess. It was at that moment her own phaser was struck out of her hand by one of the Maquis at the rear of the bridge.

"Damn..." she muttered now disarmed. "Ok, I've had enough of this!" She exclaimed angrily. "GET OFF MY BRIDGE!" she shouted at the Maquis she had disarmed. She lunged forward at him, raising her fists ready for a fight.

He took a swing towards her, only for her to block his attack with her arm. Misaka swung his arm down, delivering her own blow yo the man's chest. He stumbled backwards as she then made her own attack, delivering a well placed kick to his stomach. As he crouched over, using both hands together the final blow was delivered to his back sending him to the deck.

Misaka stood up straight, breathing heavily. She wiped the sweat from her forehead as she looked around the bridge. Incapacitated Maquis now laid around the bridge along with several of her own officers. "Secure them!" She ordered simply as she made her way to the security station. The officer whom had been manning the station had been knocked out from the Maquis phaser fire.

"We still have intruders on board..." she panted as her fingers ran across the console. "Someone find me Commander Lurath! NOW!"

As the Captain bravely fought her battle, the Gorn and Klingon began in earnest their bout of strength. It was brutal. Blow after blow began to land from both parties with fist-blows striking critical areas. The strength of the blows was loud, the Klingon in particular displaying a keen prowess for hand-to-hand combat. He had not, however, ever faced a Gorn. During the mist of the two trading blows, Kromal utilized the one appendage the Klingon lacked - his tail.

With a carefully executed twist, the Gorn used his tail to strike at the Klingons knees. The Klingon shouted in pain as the Gorn spun around quickly, leaping and then striking home a few kicks to the Klingons chest. A final to the head to knock him out, then he reared up and gave a deep hiss - out of instinct than necessity. His gaze turned to the bridge crew already having the situation under control. Kromal spat out some blood, his jaw had been dislodged in the fighting.

"I'll secure the captives, Captain" Kromal said, his voice slurred due to a partially working jaw. The words coming out rather guttural and unnatural. He proceeded to reach into one of the bridges security lockers and grabbed restraints, beginning to tie up each Maquis who had been felled.

Outside Sickbay

Felicie had gotten out of the turbolift between decks and saw that she was on Deck 10 when the call had been made that they had boarders. What little she knew about the Maquis was that they were raiders, which meant that they would probably be heading for her carefully inventoried supplies. She made her way to the central core of the Saucer section and took the Stairs down towards Deck 12, jumping as gingerly as she could from the mid-deck down to the deck below due to her aching head.

While she herself had been adept at martial arts as she found it relaxing, it was a totally different matter at hand when it was something to save oneself than it was to go on the offensive. She knew that this was the time, more than ever, that she would be put to the test. She just hoped that her crew could hold out against the boarders and that there was minimal damage.

Her husband was less so inclined with weapons, and both of them were well trained with a phaser when it came down to it. She stopped at the armory on Deck 11 as they were handing out weapons to those that needed them.

She palmed the smaller phaser and tucked it into her pocket, and then took the larger hand held phaser and checked them out before giving her thanks to the security officer and then made her way back to the central staircase to get to her Sickbay to see what damage she came across.
