Mission: The Search
Location: Observation Lounge - Deck 1

Previously on Star Trek Ermiana...

"Captain if you'll forgive us, we need to get back to work." Pete said more than asking.

Misaka sighed. She waved a hand. "Go, both of you. I'll make sure that Commander Juutilainen sends you the minutes from the rest of the meeting, right now you have bigger fish to fry," she said directing her sentence at both Commander Carter and Lieutenant Ezazzan.

And now the continuation...

"Thank you ma'am." Carter said giving Kromal a glance and both men headed for the door.

"Aye, Captain," Kromal said as he followed Peter.

Once they had left the room to continue the repairs Misaka turned to the others in the room. "I need options." She said simply. "If we let the Cardassians capture the Bismarck, we risk not only the lives of the Bismarck Crew, but also the security of Starfleet. The Cardassians will pick apart that ship for every little thing they can find, I'd rather not have a Starfleet ship fall into their hands."

Lurath slammed his fist onto the table. "We must discuss the Targ in the room!" He said firmly as he looked around. "The Maquis came at us with the intention of taking supplies and capturing the Cardassian we had on board. A Cardassian no one outside this ship was supposed to know about." He stared intently around the room before focusing on Misaka. "We have a leak on this ship and it did not come from the attack. We must eradicate it like a Cardassian Vole before it costs us more damage."

"Clearly information was leaked out." Misaka replied with a frown. "I want to know how the location of the Gul got off this ship? Only a select few people knew, but we all know how rumours start." She paused. "However I highly doubt the Maquis would risk attacking a Galaxy Class Starship over a rumour."

She turned to both Lurath and Shandro. "I want you to find the source of that leak! Until we engage the Bismarck that's your top priority. I'm authorising you to access any and all logs, conduct personnel interviews and searchs. Do whatever it takes!" She said. "If someone on this ship is leaking information, it stops now!" She added in an angry tone.

Lurath stood up and slammed his fist on the table harder. "We will bring dishonor to their house!"

Shandro stood up and tapped Lurath on the shoulder cautiously. "Or... we can just throw them in the brig." He let out a deep sigh and looked over to Misaka. "Captain... We may have another problem."

Misaka placed a hand on her forehead. "Go on..." she said letting out a sigh. This was really not a good day for her. 'What I would do for a nice long soak in a hot springs right now...' she thought to herself.

"As you know... our Cardassian guest has family. That family has requested a rescue attempt be made." Shandro said softly.

Lurath gripped onto Shandro's shoulder. "How?! His capture was just-" He narrowed his eyes. "He's family was on board?? Why was I not made aware of this?!! Your secrets will only continue to cost us more than they are worth."

"The Captain was made completely aware. It was his only request." Shandro countered.

"Then it should have been denied. One Cardassian is enough. Now you have his family involved!" Lurath growled back as he leered at Shandro.

Shandro stood firm and stared back at Lurath. "Unless you know the whole story you shouldn't throw judgement."

"All I see is more risks to our security brought on board... by... you." Lurath growled as he stepped forward and got in Shandro's face.

"Enough!" Misaka exclaimed in a firm tone. She looked around the remaining staff who were at the table. "I want you all to work on getting us back operational again. Pull double shifts if you have to. We need to beat the Cardassians to the Bismarck, and this time we'll be ready."

James piped up at the end of the table once everybody else had given their report, "Well Captain, I've got all 4 shifts up and fixing the navigational sensors, we've got the range out to 10,000 km. They are also working on the relays between the controls and the thrusters, so we can at least move the ship, however slowly that might be," he quickly tapped the PADD he had with him.

"Also, I can get some of the shuttle pilots lunched and we can get them to form a picket line so we can maybe identify whats out there because at the moment all my sensors tell me is that there is something there, not what it is and if it will damage the ship."

He finally put the PADD back on the desk and tried to discreetly loosen up his arm as it was still bothering James, but he decided that he could wait to get it looked at. The ship came first.

Misaka nodded before turning her attention to the Vulcan in the room. "Speaking of our eyes and ears." she said instantly regretting the ear remark. "How are our sensors looking? We need to see anything that might be coming at us?"

"My team are establishing a temporary mid-range sensor net," Sonak began, before tapping a few keys on the padd in front of him, and casting the image to the wall monitor. The screen displayed a class-two probe, one of many from the Ermiana's standard complement. "We'll be networking eight class-two probes to function as a sensor array," he tapped another button on the padd, and now the display showed the probes positioned at points around the Ermiana. "As our sensors our down, the telemetry will have to be routed through the communications array, so the probes are being modified to meet this requirement."

Misaka nodded. "Good work. At least we'll be able to see anything coming towards us," she replied with a wry smile. It was good news at last, and she didn't mind using a few of their probes they did have quite the variety onboard at their disposal.

Sonak nodded, tapping a key sequence on the padd, disconnecting the connection from the wall screen. "The probes will be deployed in approximately 47 minutes Captain. Until then, our visibility range will still remain minimal."

Felicie had been quiet through the exchanges that had been going on in the lounge. The bump on her head had given her a headache and the screaming match only amped it up. Once it seemingly got quieter, she raised her hand and spoke. "Considering that they have the Bismark already, they probably had enough time and access to figure out how to drill into our systems. I'm no engineer, but that's something to consider," she said, remembering her Academy training and all those stupid simulations that they had to continually go through.

"As for the casualties, I sent a list of the deceased to your terminal Captain. There were ten accounted for so far. We have about two hundred thirty four other injuries varying from minor bumps and contusions to major third degree burns, and plenty of broken bones when we got knocked. I'm expecting the death toll to not increase more than a handful more. Most of the cre has been accounted for at this time. As for the injuries, these are just the ones that have reported to the distributed aid stations throughout the ship and what we have seen in Main Sickbay and the Sickbay in the drive section. I do expect that number to quite increase as those that have delayed medical treatment are finally able to seek medical treatment," the doctor commented, waving her hand to her forehead as an example. "All in all, it could have been much worse. With what I have seen so far and heard from other's talking, I'm assuming the injured is probably a fourth of the crew and civilians aboard double than what has already been reported."

Misaka sighed, she lowered her head upon hearing about the losses they had sustained to the crew. After a few seconds of eerie silence she looked back up at the doctor. "Doctor have anyone who isn't engaged in repair efforts assist you in the ships sickbays. Its all hands on deck."

The doctor simply nodded in response.

Finally once everyone had finished a brief silence fell upon the room. "You three," she said pointing to Lurath, Shandro and Eila. "Ready Room. Now." She looked back at the others. "Everyone else dismissed."

Lurath's eyes remained locked on Shandro before he whispered in a deep tone so those close by would catch it. "If you survive this mission, Shandro, you and I will have a very Klingon discussion on your decisions as of late." He than growled and walked off as instructed to the Ready Room.

"Great... that means it will involved blood and sharp objects." Shandro replied before looking over to the Captain and nodded. He then let out a sigh and walked out of the room.

As James walked out of the conference room, he walked over towards the Dr.

"Hey, doc, is there any chance you could take a peek at my shoulder? It got hit hard by a phaser rifle, and I just can't keep the pain levels down."

He nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders, forgetting for a minute about the pain, and started rubbing vigorously...

"Yes, down in Sickbay," Felicie stated. "Let's go."

Misaka followed out quickly and headed towards the ready room. It was about time to have a talk with her Exec and Chief of Security.
