Location: Deck 9 Section 7, Crew Apartments, Starbase 8
Timeline: 2 days ago...

"Personal Log, Stardate... who the hell cares? Who even listens to these anyway? Definitely not me. I record a bunch of these all the time, and I don't think I've once ever listened back. Maybe I should. Who knows what gems I might find.

I wonder if I've said any of this before?

Particularly being prone to recording these things with a large glass of Talisker in hand, I'd imagine that statistically speaking, it's certainly possible.

So maybe I should add some real content to this log. Still... what would be the point?

I've been reassigned. Am I thrilled? Maybe. Starbase 8 isn't exactly a hotspot. Actually, it's an assignment in the ass end of nowhere. But, and this is certainly an important point, I have a nice apartment. And a lot of stuff. And someone's got to pack all this shit up. I'm not sure how I can get away with not doing it myself.

Maybe that's why both of my ex-wives left me...

Anyway... positives about moving. Galaxy-class starship. I mean, I guess that's pretty much it. What really more is there to say? I think that says it all.

Glenn leaned back in his desk chair, after shutting off the log recorder. He would certainly admit that he was glad to be making the change, going to the Ermiana. A Galaxy-class starship offered many opportunities for adventure. Not excitement, of course. He certainly felt too old to get excited.

He sipped his beverage of choice, distilled just across the island from the town of his childhood, before spinning around and surveying the state of his current home. He had a lot of work to do. A lot of things to pack. Certainly a lot of things to pack before tomorrow afternoon, when his transport would arrive, which would take him to a rendezvous with his new posting.

He took another drink, before pushing himself up, resigned to the fact that he had to get started...
